NTPC Renewable Energy team observed 7th October, 2022 as ‘NTPC Renewables Day’. The event held at PMI was graced by Shri Gurdeep Singh, CMD, Shri D. K. Patel, Director (HR), Shri Ramesh Babu V., Director (Operations), Shri C. K. Mondol, Director (Commercial), Shri U. K. Bhattacharya, Director (Projects) and Shri Jaikumar Srinivasan, Director (Finance).

Addressing the gathering CMD, NTPC appreciated the achievements of the RE Group and said that “good progress has been made on the RE front till now. To ensure supply of reliable and affordable power to our stakeholders, we need to be even faster and ensure timelines, quality as well as returns”. He also emphasized on embracing the changes and suggested keeping up with the rapidly changing RE industry.

Speaking on the occasion, all the Directors complimented the RE Team on the achievements and motivated the team to scale up further to achieve our target of 60 GW RE Power by 2032.


RE Projects were felicitated on the occasion:

• Largest Commissioned Project: Fatehgarh Solar PV Project (296 MW) [commissioned on 05.08.2022]
• Largest Commissioned Solar PV Project in One-Go at One Location: Sambhu Ki Bhurj – I (250 MW) [commissioned on 06.08.2022]
• Largest Floating Solar PV Project: Ramagundam Floating Solar PV Project (100 MW) [commissioned on 01.07.2022]

Senior officials of NTPC including heads of RE Projects and all RE Team members were present on the occasion.

This day also marks the second raising day of NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, which has been set up as a dedicated arm for RE Capacity addition.

As on date, the total installed RE capacity of NTPC Group is 2.5 GW with another 5.3 GW under different stages of implementation and 3.7 GW under tendering. NTPC has set its target to achieve 60 GW Renewable Energy Capacity addition by 2032.
